Bartlett Davies Bicks, The Company

The Company originated in 1959 and is the oldest established Community Broker in the area. Bill Bartlett and Peter Davies formed a partnership operating from a small office in Totnes Road, Paignton and as the client base grew they later moved to larger premises at 59 Palace Avenue, Paignton.

Dan Bicks joined as a partner in 1971 after a career in the Fleet Air Arm and the Company was incorporated in 1973. Due to further expansion another move to our present premises at 61 Palace Avenue took place in 1980.

Karl Hanson joined the Company in 1984. Bill, Peter and Dan have since retired.

In January 2008 the company became part of Jelf Insurance Brokers Limited.

We have 14 experienced staff providing advice for some 6000 clients, predominantly within the Torbay and Okehampton area. Although we specialise in Commercial Insurance, we have a large Personal Insurance Department which enables our clients to discuss their requirements within our offices.
